Arriving at Hotel Orion: Vaporetto and Walking Tips

Arriving in Venice is part of the experience: once you reach the historic centre, the final part of the journey is usually on foot. Hotel Orion is in Spadaria, close to Piazza San Marco, so it helps to know your destination before you set off.

Choose a stop near the hotel

Depending on your starting point and the route available on the day, vaporetto services to the Rialto or San Marco area can bring you within walking distance of Hotel Orion. The hotel is approximately 50 metres from St Mark’s Square and around five minutes on foot from Rialto Bridge.

There is no single ideal route for every arrival. Your choice may depend on whether you are coming from Venezia Santa Lucia railway station, Piazzale Roma or another part of Venice, and on the service running at that time. Check the current stop names, routes and timetables with the local transport operator before travelling.

Keep the address handy

Save the hotel’s address before leaving: Hotel Orion, Spadaria, 700/a, 30124 Venezia. The streets around San Marco form a network of short calli, so a map is useful for the final walk, especially if you have luggage.

Follow signs toward San Marco or Rialto as appropriate for your chosen stop, and then use the full street address for the final approach rather than relying on the hotel name alone.

Plan a straightforward arrival

Allow a little extra time for bridges, busy pedestrian routes and finding your way through the final streets. If you are unsure about your route, contact the hotel before your arrival rather than depending on an old online timetable.
